Mercer Built was dealt the task of taking a 1910, 11,000SF Colonial home through an 18-month renovation transformation. Homes originally built in this era lacked amenities seen today. Some of these amenities include high ceilings, air conditioning, and garages. Red Grounds exterior and proportions were to stay authentic, only renovating interiors to reflect current day homes. Steel beams and poured concrete created a three car garage. Ceilings, windows and door heights were all raised. The master suite was fitted with a 15-foot ceiling. The home also contained a captivating and charming library. The character of this room was so special it had to be preserved. We created a bar within the room to compliment the 11-foot fireplace, vintage mirror, and beautiful mantle. From mechanicals to modern day interior fire suppression system, marble baths and modern millwork, the home was every bit as leading edge as a new construction.
